Manipal Education Trust and Government of Sikkim partnered together to form University of Sikkim Manipal in 1995, which is first and foremost government-private institution is duly recognized through Commission of University Grants and also is approved by Indian Government, Department of Education for its numerous technical and professional courses at undergraduate and post graduate level. Madras University

As early as 1840, under British rule a university board was established to provide higher education in Madras jurisdiction, after great demand of improved national education. The then Governor of Madras Lord John Elphinstone G.C.H. took initiative by evolving a plan for establishment of University or Central Collegiate Institution with objectives of cultivating Regional as well as English Language and Literature along with science and philosophy. It also has aim to provide syllabus and curriculum to the higher studies branches of science, literature and philosophy. Though the board was constituted in 1840, but it took further 14 years for a systematic policy of education and later in 1957 this university organized just on model of London University.
This university expanded and progressed slowly and subsequently gave birth for numerous other universities like Annamalai University established in 1929, Anna University established in 1978, Andhra University established in 1926, Bharathidasan University established in 1982, Bharathiar University established in 1982, Madurai Kamaraj University established in 1966, Mysore University established in 1916, Mother Teresa University established in 1984, Osmania University established in 1918, Travancore University established in 1937 presently Kerala University, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University established in 1971, Tamil Nadu Veterinary Sciences University established in 1990, Tamil University established in 1981, , Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R.Medical University established in 1989, Periyar University established in 1997, and Sri Venkateswara University established in 1954.
This university has also been awarded the status of Five Star for its excellent academic and technical strength and its research and development programmes under all disciplines. This university has also been accorded with the status of excellence by University Grants Commission and has enrolled it into top five universities of India.

Madurai Kamaraj University

Established in 1966, Madurai Kamraj University was given a status of excellence by University Grants Commission recently and thus made it only eighth university to get this excellence award for its immaculate strength of quality education besides dedicated teaching staff and eminent scholars.

Madurai Kamraj University is also known for its beautiful township with vast coverage area of more than 750 acres and with more than 75 departments, 8 faculties, 110 colleges, 7 evening colleges and 20 schools including this university enrolls today more than one and half million students; this University has earned a name for itself across the country. Places of Tourist Attractions in Sikkim

One the most exciting tourist spot of the international level known all worlds around is Sikkim. Millions of travelers visit and are irresistible for its beauty and picturesque glaciers, monasteries and mountains, passes and wildlife, besides it being a shopper’s paradise. Places of Tourist Attractions in Meghalaya

Land of Meghalaya to the south of Assam and north of Bangladesh, is surrounded by beautiful hills, mind-blowing waterfalls, lakes and exotic butterflies with rare orchids. This land has snake like rivers and enthusiastic wildlife with undoubting beautiful hills. Its natural beauty is best suited for the adventure loving people as it provides them with a freshening atmosphere for these activities. It is very picturesque state and is also known as ‘the house of the clouds’.

Cherapunjee, a place of most rain in the world is also in Meghalaya. Since it rains most of the times here it is the wettest place all around. Shillong Peak: It is the highest point which provides a panoramic view and picturesque sceneries all around. Ohpetbneng Peak: This sacred peak is set against the backdrop of a green forest, regarded as the 'Navel of Heaven' as per local ‘khasi’ mythology. It is most refreshing and peaceful to be here. Retreat.Ward's Lake : This picturesque lake all amid beautiful flowerbeds and fairyland lighting is really a place to visit.

Shillong Cathedral: This beautiful church is built by the Britishers and is much spacious so as to accommodate a few thousand worshippers at one time. Nartiang: These historical remnants of old capital of the Jaintia rulers and worth paying a visit to those who are interested in historical monuments. Then there are huge monoliths and a 500 years old Durga temple which are worth visit in Meghalaya.

Waterfalls in Meghalaya: This place is also known for its number of waterfalls, which emerge from crystal clear rushing streams plunging down the high mountains, taking steep turns and twists and disappearing in deep jungles, presenting an awesome view.
